Money Check privacy policy

The short version

Money Check never connects to your bank. It only knows what you tell it, by typing, talking or scanning a receipt. We do not sell your data, show ads, or run analytics or tracking.

What we keep

• Your account: your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We cannot read your password.
• What you log: the spending, income, bills, debts and accounts you enter, and the receipt photos you upload.
• Sign-in: a cookie that keeps you signed in on your device.

Who else sees it

To turn your words and receipts into entries and to answer your questions, the app sends the text you write, your recorded voice notes, receipt photos, and the figures needed to answer you to these services. They process it for us and do not receive your email or password.

• Anthropic reads your messages, receipts and the figures needed to answer.
• OpenAI turns voice notes into text.
• Railway hosts the app and stores the database.

We share nothing else with anyone, except if the law requires it.

Your choices

• Download everything: Account, then "Download my data".
• Delete everything: Account, then "Delete my account". Your data is removed from the live database right away and cannot be recovered.
• Or write to us at the address below and we will do it for you.

Money Check shows you your own numbers. It does not give financial, tax or legal advice.

Children

Money Check is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
